Amanda Bossard, fresh out from Anchorage High School, in 1992 began her studies in marine biology. Bossard began her career in the industry of commercial seafood in 1999. At the time she worked on Murat Aritan's 65-foot halibut vessel, later transformed into a fishing tender. Bossard was married to Aritan in 1999, and the pair have come together to fight for their business. Both of them are in favour of conserving resources as well as maximizing profits. Otolith has opened its market direct wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia when Bossard returned from living back home with her two daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1year old, to Philadelphia. Her husband has a long history in the fish industry, which often keeps them separate for a period of five or more months. It is during this time that they're focusing on their financial and environment goals. As of July 2016 Bossard and her daughter Isabella aged 12 and son Andre age 10 are back in Southeast Alaska annually each summer for deckhand work throughout the summer wild salmon harvest. Utilizing a troller of 42 inches Bossards are able to are able to catch salmon by hooks. They then work with Aritan working in the local processing facility for a period of two weeks.
